Don’t Wait to Vaccinate is partnered with Armijo Dallas Helps to bring live vaccination sign up and scheduling events to underserved and priority zip codes in North Texas. Deep in the community - at schools, community centers, places of worship, and storefronts - these events allow individuals to ask questions about the vaccine and register themselves and their families to get vaccinated. DWTV, through the incredible efforts of Leslie and Val and dedicated volunteers, has had tremendous success, registering thousands of North Texans at safe and fun vaccination registration drives.
The City doesn't want individuals to show up without an appointment because that would be chaotic, and it would muddle the vaccine distribution timeline
If someone doesn't have reliable access to wifi, they can't sign up for the vaccine, even if they want to. Also, a significant number of individuals only have flip phones - this means that they cannot use the link that the county sends them to sign up to get their vaccine.
In other words, there's a very real inequality concerning vaccination registration and scheduling opportunities.
Our organization pinpoints areas of the DFW metroplex with historically low vaccination history, low income levels, and/or few COVID-19 vaccination sign ups.
Our events help our community in two ways: First, it enables individuals to register for the vaccine and schedule their vacination appointments. This is super important for ensuring that all areas of our city can get the vaccine. Second, it continues our work towards achieving herd immunity. This pandemic is endng, how quickly is up to all of us.
We are always looking for new locations to host an event! Whether you have a storefront, a group of employees to get registered to get vaccinated, or a motivation to help fund an event, we would love to partner with you and host a sponsored event for you or your organization!
We would love your help in financing our events! For each event, we have to print flyers and forms and buy things like pens, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes. Plus, we have to buy/rent tables, chairs, and tents.
